Non‑Profit Organization

We are a non‑profit organization based in Lower Austria. We care deeply about the well‑being of Tibetan children in exile. To give those children a chance at a self‑determined life, we promote the construction of educational institutions as well as their maintenance.

To make this possible, we depend on donations. The people active in the association work voluntarily. Every donation is used entirely for supporting our projects with great care!

Our areas of activity

Educational projects – Construction and maintenance of schools, support for children and young people in their education.

Sponsorship – Direct help for children, monks, nuns or elderly people through personal donations.

Individual help in emergencies – Support in case of illness, emergencies or disasters.

Buddhistische Veranstaltungen & Dharma-Praxis – Promotion of Tibetan culture and guided Dharma practice by Rinpoche Karma Lhundup

Founding story

We owe the founding of the Tibet Aid Lower Austria association to Dr. phil. Siegfried Nasko. The reason for this was a trip to Dharamsala in 2005. In cooperation with the mayor of Tashi Jong, a school for village children was built there. In 2007, the association was registered, then under a different name. Raffael Sterkl took over from Siegfried Nasko as chairman in 2017. Although the association is naturally constantly reorganizing, its long-standing permanent members include Brigitte Illetschko, Ingomar Illetschko, Raffael Sterkl, Marion Kaar, and Charlotte Rösener.

Der Verein umfasst mittlerweile nicht nur Mitglieder, sondern auch Freunde und Förderer. Dank der Unterstützung unserer Spender konnten wir bereits zahlreiche Projekte realisieren und vielen Menschen Freude bereiten.
