An initiative by Tibethilfe Lower Austria for education and culture
The school for monks in Tso Pema, in the northern Indian Himalayas, is in urgent need of support.This school not only provides basic education but also promotes Tibetan culture and spiritual values such as non-violence and compassion. It was founded many years ago by His Eminence Lho Ontul , who fled Tibet at the age of 8. After living in exile in India as a refugee and surviving on alms, he was able to acquire land with support from the Himalayan region and founded the Wogmin Thupten Shedrup Ling Monastery along with the school.
Following the passing of Lho Ontul two years ago, the school has lost significant donations that were vital for its operation. The students, many of them children of refugees from Nepal and Myanmar, rely on continuous support to continue their education.
Project aim
In order to maintain school operations and improve educational quality, we are raising funds for urgently needed equipment. Your donation will help improve the learning environment and provide children with a better future.
What is needed?
- New classroom furniture: double-seater benches and desks to provide students with a comfortable workspace.
- School materials: blackboards, writing utensils, notebooks, and books essential for teaching.
- Technical equipment: a projector for modern teaching methods.
- Buddhist studies: small study tables for children to work with Buddhist texts.
